In Delhi, AAP will field its candidates on four seats while Congress will contest on three seats
In a significant political development, the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have joined hands, unveiling their strategic seat-sharing agreements for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Goa. The announcement, made on February 24, is set to bring a collaborative and unified front against the backdrop of the prevailing political landscape.
Delhi, a key battleground, will witness AAP fielding candidates in four seats, emphasizing their commitment to the electoral process. Congress, in turn, will take the helm in three constituencies, fostering a spirit of cooperation. The distribution includes prominent areas such as New Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, East Delhi, Chandani Chowk, North East Delhi, and North West Delhi.
Moving westward, the alliance unfolds in Gujarat, where Congress will contend in 24 out of 26 Lok Sabha seats, while AAP claims its presence in Bharuch and Bhavnagar. In Haryana, Congress sets its sights on nine seats, with AAP making its mark on the electoral landscape in Kurukshetra. The lone seat in Chandigarh becomes a stronghold for Congress.
Highlighting the motivation behind this collaboration, AAP MP Sandeep Pathak emphasized the need for an honest and robust alternative in the face of current challenges. As the alliance takes shape, it reflects a collective effort to address issues ranging from the state of institutions to concerns about farmers, unemployment, and inflation.
As the Lok Sabha 2024 elections loom on the horizon, the Congress-AAP alliance seeks to present a formidable front, echoing the shared commitment to offering a strong and honest alternative for the nation. Stay tuned for more updates as the political narrative unfolds.
