In a significant breakthrough, the Uttarakhand Police has successfully arrested the key accused, Abdul Malik, in connection with the Haldwani violence case. Two additional suspects have also been apprehended, marking a crucial development in the ongoing investigation.
Inspector General of Police (Provisioning and Modernisation) Nilesh Anand Bharne, the official spokesperson for the Uttarakhand Police, confirmed the successful arrest of Abdul Malik in Delhi. The police acted swiftly, showcasing their commitment to bringing justice to the victims of the Haldwani violence.
DGP Abhinav Kumar has recognized the efforts of the police team involved in Malik's arrest, announcing a cash reward of ₹50,000. The decisive action reflects the dedication of law enforcement to ensure accountability and resolve the case.
Earlier in the day, Abdul Malik's legal representatives had submitted an anticipatory bail application before the court of the additional district and sessions judge in Haldwani. The arrest has nullified the bail application, underscoring the efficacy of the police operation.
Ajay Kumar Bahuguna, Malik's lawyer, expressed surprise at the arrest, stating, "We didn't know that he had been arrested and moved an anticipatory bail application in the court. The bail application will be cancelled automatically."
